Hayle Selassi
Hayle Selassi (Amharca ቀዳማዊ ኀይለ ሥላሴ, Üçləmənin gücü[1]), əsl adı Tafarı Makonnen (ተፈሪ መኰንን)[2], (d. 23 iyul 1892 - ö. 27 avqust 1975) 1930-1974 arasında vəzifə yerinə vermiş Efiopiyanın son imperatoru.Yamaykada H.I.M. (His Imperial Majesty) olaraq tanınır.Ləqəbi Nequse Neqest (Krallar kralı) idi və özünü Hz. Süleymanın 225. xələfi olaraq tanıtırdı.Ölkəsinin modernləşməsinə öndərlik edərək II. Dünya müharibəsi sonrası Afrika siyasi həyatında əhəmiyyətli bir mövqe əldə etməsini təmin etmiş və Əddis-Əbəbəyı Afrika Birliyi Təşkilatının (OAU) əsas mərkəzi vəziyyətinə gətirmişdir.1974 dəki Sovet dəstəkli hərbi çevrilişlə taxtdan endirilmiş,Derq cuntasındaki Efiopiya Demokratik Xalq Respublikası qurulmuşdur.

Tafari Makonnen adıyla şərqdəki bir əyalət olan Harerdə oranın qubernatorunun oğulu olaraq dünyaya gəldi.Xristian-Pravoslav aristokratiyanın ayaqlanmasıyla ölən əski kral II. Menelikin və orta qüvvələrin dəstəkçisi olaraq tanınan dəstəkçisi V. İyasu Liul Liy, 2 noyabr 1930da aşaraq I. Hayle Selassi adıyla iqtidar olmuşdur.
Yamaykada ortaya çıxan Pan-Afrikali fikirli Rastafari inancında bir peyğəmbər olaraq qəbul edilir.
