Simalia amethistina (Amethystine pitonu) — Həmçinin skrab piton və ya İndoneziyada sanca permata kimi tanınan, Pitonlar fəsiləsinə aid zəhərsiz ilan növü.

Təsvir

S. amethistina nümunələri, quyruq da daxil olmaqla, ümumi uzunluğu 5,5 m-dən (18,0 ft) çox ölçülmüşdür, lakin bu müstəsnadır, çünki 4 m (13 ft) nümunələr artıq son dərəcə böyük hesab olunur. Ametistin pitonu Simalia kinghornidən kiçik olsa da, bəzi mənbələr S. amethistina nın 27 kq (60 funt) və bəlkə də 30 kq (66 funt) çəki ilə 6 m (20 fut) uzunluğa çata biləcəyini iddia edir.^[2]^[3] Hamar kürək pulcuqları orta bədəndə 39-53 cərgədə düzülür. Arxa aşağı labialların altı və ya yeddisində dərin, istilik hiss edən çuxurlar var.^[4]
