Tarixi

Şotlandiyada dram teatrı XVIII əsrin ortalarında meydana gəlmişdir. Edinburq şəhərində 1769-cu ildə "Royyal", 1883-cü ildə "Litseum" teatrları açılmışdır. Truppalar, əsasən ingilis aktyorlarından ibarət idi. Qlazqo şəhərində «Danlop strit tietr» (1782–1863), "Kuin strit tietr" (1805–1829), "Adelfi" (1842–1848) və s. teatrlar fəaliyyət göstərmişdir, 1909-cu ildə rejissor A. Uerrinqin rəhbərliyi ilə "Qlazqo repertuar teatrı" təşkil edilmişdir. Teatr cəmi beş mövsüm fəaliyyət göstərsə də, milli teatr sənətinin formalaşmasında əhəmnyyətli rol oynamışdır. 1921-ci ildə "Şotlavd milli aktyorları" truppası təşkil olunmuşdur. 1939-cu ildə ilk Şotlandiya teatr festivalı keçirilmişdir. 1970–1980-ci illərdə "Travers tietr klab" (Edinburq) və "Klouz studia tietr" (Qlazqo) eksperimental teatrları tamaşalar hazırlamışdılar. Teatrlar Şotlandiya incəsənət şurasından və şəhərlərin incəsənət şuralarından maliyyə yardımı alırlar.
